I’m ready for some real German fun. I’m from Arkansas, but I’m going to get my relatives from Jefferson City to join me on this, my 1st year to attend.
Spent many of my childhood Autmn Octoberfest weekends staying with relatives in Hermann. Arrive on Friday afternoon at a favorite aunt & uncles home for an Octoberfest festival. These were the early days back in the 1950’s when all the relatives got together at my aunts home cooking German recipes from scratch with the aromas of all things German. I still visit Hermann at various times of the year to enjoy the changing of times that have transformed Hermann to a great German heritage town with great progression. Thanks to Jim & Mary Dierbergs enthusiasm in preserving this great community of German heritage. As I have mentioned in past replies that I am a 5th generation of the Founding Fathers of the German Settlement of Philadelphia.
I grew up in hermann on a farm Now I am 62 and living in Louisiana. Although I love it here Hermann will always be home. Can’t wait to visit this October
