Bias Winery – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Decadent Chocolate Truffle Cookie. It just makes your mouth water reading it, I bet. Bias Winery, outside Hermann Missouri did a wonderful job with their chocolate dessert this year. Their Chocolate Truffle Cookie was paired with Raspberry Weisser Flieder. Luckily, visitors were given two cookies. Hermannhof Winery – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Down in the wine cellar of Hermannhof, they prepared a delightful serving of Braised Beef Short Ribs with Chocolate and Cinnamon. Visitors to the Hermann Missouri area had both a wonderful setting and small taste of a popular dish with a chocolate twist. Hermannhof Winery paired their savory plate with their famous Norton. The dark wine brought out the dark taste of the chocolate perfectly, especially since the ribs were seared to perfection. OakGlenn Winery – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
OakGlenn Winery always seems to offer another reason for visiting their location right outside Hermann Missouri. This year their Chocolate Pudding was topped with whipped cream and candy crumbles. They paired this delight with a River View Red. The views at OakGlenn were spectacular on such a bright February day and the chocolate treat was an added bonus. Pinckney Bend – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Although Pinckney Bend Distillery was not officially on the Hermann Missouri Chocolate Wine Trail, we noticed that they honor wine trail tickets so we took a small detour to the New Haven Arts District. The staff there was so helpful and friendly and even let us enter and sample their spirits before their official opening time. Each of the spirits sampled was excellent quality. They even provided chocolate treats to try with their Rested American Whiskey. They then gave us a great tour of the facility. Overall, we were very pleased with their service and product. Röbller Winery – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Röbller Winery was a hub of activity during this year’s Hermann Missouri Chocolate Wine Trail. A beautiful table was laid with many plates filled with a beautiful Double Chocolate Scone topped with a reduction and fresh sliced strawberries. The chocolate scone was paired with their very own Kasselfest Sweet Red wine and was a perfect balance between light and heavy. With the hearts hanging around the location and wine flowing, it was a perfect setting for a chocolate treat. Star Lane Three Saints – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Star Lane Three Saints Winery mixed things up a bit this year and decided to offer visitors to the Hermann Missouri area with a Ground Pork Ragu with Chocolate. This tasty dish was served on a bed of pasta and paired with their Cabernet Sauvignon. The pork was cooked to perfection and the chocolate gave just a hint of a dark taste. Stone Hill Winery – Hermann Chocolate Wine Trail 2014
Stone Hill Winery always delivers a great product for visitors to the Hermann Missouri area and their entry for the 2014 Chocolate Wine Trail was no different. This year they offered Ceyenne Brownies paired with their Concord wine. Each bite of the brownie was infused with a slight tinge of heat, which was welcomed considering the chilled weather outside.
