Founded in 1937, our purpose is to stimulate the love and knowledge of gardening and to foster beauty in the community. With many of the locals contributing to the love of gardening, the surrounding city of Hermann Missouri has seen a fantastic growth of beautiful gardens. Each year the garden club sponsors a garden tour in which locals and visitors to Hermann can view some of the beautiful scenery around this gorgeous town.
Scholarships are awarded to qualifying individuals planning to study horticulture.
The Garden Club encourages students in the horticulture department and provides some financial help for their greenhouse plantings and community bed designs.
The Garden Club maintains several community gardens, including the Lewis and Clark Riverfront Walk, the George Johnson Park, and the Hermannplatz Garden at the north City Entrance.
