Gosherd Cottage near Hermann Missouri is a restored, whole house rental located on a working bird farm. Just 17 miles SW of Hermann MO you can enjoy all the comforts of a modern home in the original homestead. And still go to & from the nearby wineries at your own pace.
They have WiFi & Satellite TV, hand made quilts and plenty of places to put your feet up and watch the game or just curl up with a good book. And you can snuggle with your pup too because we allow dogs.
They will accept horses next spring 2015.
Their cottage is filled with antiques and collectibles that are for sale as well. The historic German Four Square garden is open to your use (we have up to 30 varieties of vegetables growing) as are the fresh eggs there at the farm.
You can buy locally sourced meats and products from them, ranging from smoked meats to handcrafted lotions and soaps or from the local producers. If cooking isn’t your thing, simply travel a few miles into Morrison for a casual regional dinner, such as fried catfish sandwiches and chicken fried steak.
They can accommodate 6 adults and 2 more if they don’t mind sleeping on couches.
I spent two nights with my dog at Gosherd Valley Cottage and did not realize until then how poorly I had been sleeping. Literally, those were the best two nights’ sleep I had all summer. There was even a vintage dog bed that my Yorkie fell in love with. The cottage is beautifully decorated and appointed, while still being comfortable and authentic. I can’t wait until my next chance to visit!
