Swiss Meat & Sausage Company, founded in 1969 by Bill and Margie Sloan, develops, produces, perfects and displays it’s many delicacies, which now includes over 65 varieties of link sausage and bratwurst, in an exotic showroom. They have been referred to as the “Bass Pro” of the sausage world. People come in to sample, enjoy one of their award winning brats or pit smoked beef brisket sandwiches from the deli, and just take in the sights and aromatic smells that their award winning smoked meats create!
Here you’ll find not only some of the best bacon in the USA, as referenced in the book, “BACON NATION”, but award winning Summer Sausages, German Bologna, German Braunschweiger, Grand Champion Hickory Smoked Hams and much, much more!
This sausage shop is definitely a public attraction and a can’t miss destination on your next trip through Hermann wine country. It’s a popular stop for tour buses as well. Pre-arranged tour groups are guided through the facility where you can view as they process beef, pork, bison, elk, lamb or goats; cure, cook and smoke hams, bacon, jowls, or an array of other meats, as well as grind, stuff, slice, package and label the products sold in their store, shipped nationwide or delivered to other venues.
Your “One Stop-Brat Shop” offering mouth watering samples of their award winning brats, bacon, sausages, and more, all produced on site! You will also find jams, jellies, relishes, BBQ sauces and spices, all of which are artfully displayed in the Sloan family antique kitchen. Their friendly service is legendary, honoring the Swiss Family motto: A Family Business that treats You Like Family!
